This canyon wren popped up into my engine bay (from beneath the license plate) within 15 minutes of arriving at the trailhead, and proceeded to forage throughout. It also hopped up into wheel wells and suspension areas, through the wheels, and did the same with several neighboring cars.
the following day, observed the same behavior in a canyon wren at a different trailhead with different cars (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/142113619).
