This is the first Plummer's Mariposa Lily I've seen this year. I was so excited to see it! I didn't see any last year.
This one was growing out of a bank between Hesperoyucca whipplei and Salvia apiana next to Johnson's Pasture Road in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, a bit north of the intersection with the Burbank Trail.
I saw a second one farther south on Johnson's Pasture Road.
On a gravelly flat in the Bighorn Mountain Wilderness--part of a lovely desert wildflower show there. So grateful for this year's rain!
Abundant, in full bloom, and very fragrant, like the best perfume ever
