Second year in a row I’ve seen this fungus around the roots of this tree.
I’ve taken photos over the past few weeks; see dates.
(Observed 6/25, 7/01, 7/10, & 7/15/23, compare to submission of the same tree observed 6/12 2022.)

On deer feces. No ring present. Hairs-like cystidia with a spherical base. Smooth stipe: up to 4cm; cap: up to 3mm in diameter. Pine Barrens.
