My first wild owl sighting and first Saw-whet sighting just sitting in my backyard. Quite a pleasant little surprise. Stayed in the yard until around 6pm before flying off after taking a bit of a nap. Have better photos, this was just the only one I could locate.

This skunk was sick or injured and had a lot of trouble moving. I called the local wildlife rehab organization and they were on the way about an hour after I first saw it. I gave it some water but it didn’t drink.

Saw this poor little guy walking home today. He was scared exhausted, clinging to the wall after being prodded with a stick by a guy. After myself and a couple guys managed to fend him off, Calgary Transit Peace Officers came to help (See pics). The police, fire and animal control were reluctant, as they would likely have to be put into the position of euthanizing it. But, this good officer gave it a bit of a ramp to help it down and said he would remain and ensure no one else approached it!

Family of four badgers (2 juveniles seen. Absolutely incredible to see. If you choose to find these, please respect their space and use caution. I imagine that these will soon be relocated due to dog walkers and parents fearing for their safety. These photos were taken from over 100 meters away and they did not mind my presence. Please respect these animals and educate others about coexistence with wildlife.
