Descripción

Some good friends of mine let me know that a pair of Ladder-backed Woodpeckers had an active nest in an agave stalk in their yard. I went over there this afternoon and was able to watch the male and female make many visits to the nest cavity to feed the young. In image 1, the male is removing a fecal sack from the nest.
