Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve bird surveys May-Aug 2008. Sorry for the huge circle, but I was in a constantly in different areas of the Preserve, and my notes are related to birds, not other taxa. But all these photographs were taken in the Pasco County portion of Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve.

Ibis poop under a microscope; it showed us the depth of food the Ibis we viewed around A1A & 206 were eating. They have become somewhat nomadic since losing their Everglades home many years ago. In this case, the Ibis are feeding on saltwater and freshwater crabs.

Looking for opinions on this one. I'd love to finalize it on a checklist if possible but the quality of the photos had me being uncomfortable with a definitive ID so it was input at genus level.
Copy-pasted from checklist comment:
"Unsure if Coopers or Sharpie. Animal flew out of neighborhood over my head and onto a pine on island. Photos TBA.
EDIT: Photos added. Tail was squared off in flight so I am of the personal opinion that this individual is a SSHA but the combined angle of the bird in the photos and poor quality of them make me uncomfortable finalizing it on my list.
After a few minutes perched it dove into nearby bushes, maybe after a squirrel? as some very agitated squirrel noises were heard a few seconds later. Bird was not seen again after this. If it is indeed a SSHA then it's not the one I first saw back on October 22nd, '21 as that animal had full adult plumage. This animal seems to still have some brown tone to it's mantle with some white flecking in various places."
