Young badger burrowed in Andy LaCasse's yard on Fair Avenue in West Petaluma, near garden. Badger emerged from burrow at dusk and Andy was able to photograph. Other sightings of burrows just south on Skillman Lane. Paula Lane is SE of Skillman.
Active habitat on Paula Lane, West Petaluma.
Core maternal area.
Occasional nocturnal species sightings.
Primarily nocturnal activity.
Urban to rural transition area.
East of Marin Creek, primary water source for wildlife in area.
Wildlife corridor connecting Helen Putnam Regional Park with North and NW Petaluma.
Habitat survey by Bioconsultant LLC in 2003 (25 active, 29 inactive burrows).
Significant increase in activity in 2009.
Currently active - habitat and movement.
High gopher, vole and mouse populations make attractive habitat.
