Observation of a huntsman spider preying on a blue-tailed skink by my daughter, Jacy Miller.
According to my herpetologist friends, the skink is most probably Emoia caeruleocauda.
In limestone between Lamlam and Alamagosa River. Location given is only approximate.
I’m combining fruit and flowers from same tree, different times of year. The tree pictured is not the same tree (it’s the big one on the trail to Mt Lamlam), this one is nearby but illustrates the “pagoda” branching that’s characteristic of this tree. The photo of berries and leaves are from an area nearby closer to Alamagosa but show the colors of the leaves and the iridescence of the berries. Also epiphytic orchids seems to really like yoga. Flowering: April 5, 2018. Fruiting: July 29, 2018. Fruit w/red leaves: July 29, 2018. Tree: May 10, 2018.
