Pic #3 is of the underside pores. These brackets were relatively large, 2-3 inches and quite varied in size. The "hairy" or "downy" characteristic is visible in pic #2. Host is possibily Tanoak.

Observed on the shore of a salt pond. There were many present. Here two beetles together, one on top of the other. Mating? Is that an exposed sex organ for the beetle on top?
