Kellys creek
variety of different vegetation near a large lake with an overall dampness to the area due to high rainfall.
Very common, dispersed regularly. As this site was exposed to sunlight, many juveniles beneath 1 metre were present, and surrounding the quadrat, were many adult specimens
The tree can be identified from its young three leaves, and it is known to grow into having simple leaves. This particular plant is growing on top of a fallen tree in order to have more sunlight to grow in the dense forest.
It was raining a lot and very damp. There was no wind that day.
Our observation started at 10:20am.
In alpine herbfield, below Mt Alexander, Camp Creek, Westland. 2nd photo shows habitat.
