Cuuuuuuurly snoot.
Firm Thick skin, fingers were white after touching. Found only under red oaks. Second picture is an older one
I think this is the second ratsnake to inhabit a large black walnut tree in the yard. The previous was larger and would sun on this same large horizontal branch often. Last year there were two smaller black snakes working our yard. Now the larger one is gone and a smaller one (this individual) is occupying the same tree and uses the same entry to the tree hollow.
Ornery bugger :)
Massive numbers growing in the wood chips around our swing set. Spore Print is an ample chocolate brown, similar to ground cinnamon. Have included younger specimens along with older ones. Really have no idea about the ID on this one but the spores had no tinge of purple or green in them. Would love to get an ID so I know how to treat them, especially so near to the kids' play area. TiA
