Locally common in sandy ground on side of track. Growing with Dianella nigra, Leontodon saxatilis, Hypochaeris radicata, Thuidium furfurosum and Hypnum cupressiforme.
Plants bright green, and leafy. Leaves 30-60 mm long, bright green, narrowly accicular, tapering, stiffly erect to arching, apices in-rolled. Inflorescences on culms 100-130 mm long, terminal, solitary or paired, 4-6-flowered; bracteate, bracts foliose, paired, uppermost notably longer than lower. Flowers with 4 stamens. Tepals 4.5-5.6 mm long, outer narrowly lanceolate, acuminate. Capsules immature, shorter than tepals, minutely beaked, light green.

Local along road. Plants with smooth urticles. Interestingly plant for restoration planting nearby were named C. lessioniana, when all plants in the local vicinity were this species.
Note very small flowers.
