Tiny toad, found at the back of a Home Depot parking lot
Found these living in a stock tank fed by a spring up in the mountains.Surprised to see white ones. Albinos? There were also green ones.
This one was maybe 15 mm long, no bigger.
To make it clear, there are many little tree frogs in the yard: these bear the classic gray, mottled color pattern. THIS one appears to have arrived on a giant elephant ear plant, and it’s coloration is distinct from the grays. In most light, this frog is a pinkish tan, almost a peach color, and any markings, if present, are quite faint. I’m not sold yet that this is a gray/Cope’s. Are leucistic gray tree frogs known?
