munching slime mold
small, 2-3 mm, young woodlice?
Herb, frequent. Sourveld grassland with rock outcrops
This appeared over night on a dead tree stump after light rain (5mm). At first I thought it was a fungus. However it is soft, foamy and sticky to the touch. It stands 7mm high by 5mm across. Maybe eggs deposited in a protective covering.
Seen on the underside of a lemon tree leaf. A fibrous mass that appears to hold eggs.
