The first seven photos of individual leaves are of stem leaves followed by a photo of a stem cross section.
Leaf photos after the stem cross section are of branch leaves. The first four show convex surfaces, after which is a branch leaf cross section.
The three photos following that of the leaf cross section show branch leaf concave surfaces.
Characters atypical of Sphagnum recurvum are present: Some branch leaves are slightly longer than 3 mm. Some foci on the branch leaf convex surfaces — generally near the leaf base — have larger numbers of pores than expected for this species.
