location not exact, note only two white shafts on upper primaries, overall cold coloration, strong barred patterning under tail, contrasting secondary edge, short thick bill
Clipped by a biker in front of me. Appeared to be uninjured just scared when moving it off the trail
Scarred me pretty bad when it came up from behind and bumped my foot while snorkeling in 3ft of water
This is me now, if you even care.
Not the best photos since it was 10ft in the air, but it was huge!!!
With Don Fraser; returning from a successful search of our lifer Yehl Skippers at Big Bend Wildlife Management Area; we did not find our potential lifer Broad-winged Skipper here. We stopped at two spots here ("Devil's Hammock") to search for our lifer Zabulon Skipper, but were not successful at either stop. The entrance gate at this spot was closed, so we walked around a bit. I did not record the weather at either spot here, but it was sunny and mild. We left and drove to the second spot at 1721.
West Pasco Christmas Bird Count; a solo effort. I started with a walk-around survey, which ended at 0742, then spent the next 3 hours doing a stationary Gulf watch from the southern pavilion. The weather at the start was pre-sunrise (and partly cloudy), 60 degrees ("feels like" 58) and breezy (winds from the N at 2-8 MPH). I left at 1058 and headed to the lunch/initial compilation at Heartwood Preserve.

West Pasco Christmas Bird Count with Don Fraser. We stopped at Green Key after lunch to see if we could find any shorebirds that had been missed in the morning because of the extremely low tide. We did not find any "new" birds until we left the park and found 7 Ruddy Turnstones at the Funnel. I did not record the weather but it was partly cloudy, mild, and breezy. We left the park at 1332.
