6 examples, all hosted by the same red oak leaf, all proximate to veins. I lost track of the host leaf of the 7th example (final composite image)... it's in a pile somewhere🤔 ...Found it!😀 Added 2 pics.
On red oak. First 5 images show 3 fusiform galls tucked close to a leaf vane. Three additional are shown in images 6-8.
On Western ragweed (Ambrosia psilostachya), on stem.
They all have two black strips, kinda like fruits, see last picture.
I didn't have time to cut them open, sorry.
Grid size is 0.25 inch (0.635 cm). Collected from swimming pool trap.
