We're getting into peak butterfly season, when the migrants have arrived, the first caterpillar broods have matured, and the numbers are up.
So far this summer, little skippers have been the only visitors to my Gomphrena, but today I saw a hairstreak and a Silvery Checkerspot visiting. The checkerspots are a bit uncommon for my yard, though I have seen a few over previous summers.
