Growing commonly around Tony Grove Lake.
Flowering in cultivation in my backyard.
It grew to an impressive size in this year, its first, and flowered for well over a month in total. The flowers tended to open at nighttime and close during the day, probably an adaptation against water loss by the large flowers, and it also implies moth pollination, an idea supported by the yellow flower color.
