Definitely not Blandings. A super close up of shell shows some very faint spots. They were not visible in hand. I focused on the rough scales on carapace. Distinct rings, not at all smooth like the spotted turtles I have encountered locally. Agree the shell was not as domed as wood turtle looking at comparative photos. He wouldn’t emerge from his shell to examine head.

This is a shell next to me on the beach, or I thought it was. I’m looking up to see what it belonged to

Caught up in a crabbing net in brackish water. Very exciting!
Road killed. I hope I will not see any more crushed turtles. Two is too many.
When I walked through the Cotton Hollow Preserve, I found the turtle sitting near the water of river.
