100% a fish crow, I heard its call
Benny chased them away so I couldn't get too close
So sad I didn’t catch it on this recording. But one of the crows this morning was making a noise I’ve never heard before. It was like plucking a violin string. Like he was old or injured or just something wrong with his voice. It might be a normal sound for them but I’ve never heard it from any other crow and he looked larger and may be older than the ones he was hanging out with. The sound was very short and staccato and higher pitched than normal and very brassy like a cough. Reminded me of when an old dog tries to bark.
Guess at species - cannot see beak
