I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the US and have lived in Canada. My observations will include both countries. My parents taught me to know the names of wildflowers, birds, insects, trees and other plants, for which I am grateful. My dad was an early instructor in outdoor schools, and my mom especially loved to identify PNW wildflowers. I have a passion for seeing our biodiversity preserved, and am a member of both iNaturalist and eBird (Meg Mittelstedt) for this reason.
