As a child I loved nature but never met someone like Theodore Stephanides (see “My Family and Other Animals” by Gerry Durrell) nor thought of pursuing scientific studies in related fields. Ultimately I focused on art, which Cicero claims “is born of the observation and investigation of nature.” My professional experience has been in design, architecture, and urbanism. The wonderful iNaturalist community allows me to reconnect to my childhood enthusiasm for nature in general and bugs in particular. I love observing the behavior of the beautiful creatures I encounter and feel privileged to be the witness of their amazing comedies and dramas.
