Invertebrate zoologist based in the Great Lakes region of the midwest, my research interests include sexual selection and the evolution of social behavior in arthropods as well as the effects of human encroachment in natural systems and the behavioral plasticity of organisms therein. Spiders are main focus group but I have a soft spot for ants, crustaceans and herps, too. I've recently gotten over my overall disdain for birds (re: undergrad junior year ornithology field course...) and now view them as intriguing if not taxing photographic subjects.
