I am a lifelong birder and have spent the last several years pursuing a wildlife biology career, with a MS in Biology and BS in Forestry. I currently (since Aug. 2017) work as an interpretive ranger for Maricopa County Parks & Recreation Dept. at the Hassayampa River Preserve near Wickenburg, Arizona. I am an Arizona native and have experience conducting biological surveys for birds, desert tortoises, and plants in the western U.S., along with 1.5 years living in Kansas City working as an avian biologist conducting bird surveys across the Midwest and Great Plains states. In recent years, I've made 7 trips down into the state of Sonora, Mexico (including the Alamos, Yecora, San Carlos, Hermosillo, Obregon, Navojoa, and Cucurpe regions). In addition to birds, my interests have grown to plants, mammals, herps, and more recently odonates and butterflies. During grad school I taught a biology lab for 3 years that focused on the major multicellular eukaryotic taxa (Algae, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia), so developed more interest and knowledge in other taxa including mosses and liverworts. Whenever I'm out in nature I'm always looking at everything!
