My background is analytical chemistry, and mineral and ore characterization. I began being an amateur botanist in 1981 but am still far from being a truly competent one. My passion is native orchids and have traveled quite widely to observe them. I only developed an interest in grasses, sedges and rushes in 2018 but soon became intrigued by their complexity and call for attention to detail. This is my current focus.
