I am an entomologist (Ph.D Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison, Dan Young's Lab) who worked as an endangered species biologist for the Forest Service and Dept. of Defense. Now retired, I am the coordinator of the SW Oregon Bee Atlas team. This is our fourth year of a five year survey of the bees in OR. I chose this area because of its biological diversity and it has lived up to this claim. We have collected many new state records as well as some that may be new species. If you would like to learn more about this project Google "Oregon Bee Atlas". It is the most important project I've ever worked on and switching from my lepidoptera/coleoptera mind set has been both exciting and heart warming. Such delightful creatures!
