I'm an undergraduate student at Northern Michigan University studying Fisheries and Wildlife Management. I am interested in using camera traps to understand habitat use, seasonal variation, and distribution of wildlife. In addition to my studies, I have volunteered for multiple camera trapping research projects: Yooper Wildlife Watch (Northern Michigan) & Project Wild Coshocton (Ohio State - Newark). On my free time, I am working toward capturing Michigan's wildlife on my trail cameras.

I have observations from Isle Royale National Park where I've worked as a Balsam Fir Intern for the Wolf-Moose Project.

I've also spent time working as a State Worker for the Michigan DNR at Waterloo State Recreation Area. My observations from Waterloo are mostly turtles (Painted & Common Snapping turtles) crossing park roads. The endangered Blanding's turtle is also found in the park. I try my best to not make duplicate observations of the same turtle.

I post my trail camera images and other wildlife findings on my Instagram. Feel free to follow me @louieswildlifecameras
