I am a Dutch biologist working in the Philippines with the Mabuwaya Foundation. I study biodiversity in general (species richness, distributions, impact of human activities on species), the ecology of specific species and conservation effectiveness. The main taxa I work with are birds, bats, amphibians and reptiles but I am interested in all. Outside the Philippines I like birdwatching and hiking in the Netherlands and European countries and nature-focussed holidays elsewhere whenever time and finances permit.
