I'm a zoologist/molecular biologist/neurobiologist currently working in Prague, Czech Republic.

My main research initially was focused on water-dwelling organisms, from plankton to fish and amphibians. For more than 10 years I have been working in the field of rotifer taxonomy and molecular taxonomy, mainly on Bdelloidea, defended PhD thesis on bdelloid fauna and taxonomy, and described 14 new for science bdelloid species from Europe and Antarctica.

Recently I'm also doing experiments on terrestrial vertebrates, mainly rodents, aiming at understanding their orientation in space and navigation mechanisms, magnetoreception in particular.

I have some experience with polar life too, both Arctic and Antarctic species.
