I have no background in science, either amateur or professional. I do however take a lot of (amateur) photos of birds, insects, mammals etc. Unfortunately unless they are a species from my local area I do not usually know what they are, and using online identifiers is how I found iNaturalist.
My home is in the mid north of South Australia, but I also regularly travel to the sub-continent.
