Year of the Mushrooms!
I hereby declare 2018 the "Year of the Mushrooms" step aside "Year of the Anacostia" ;)
Seriously, it has been an outstanding year for mushrooms. It's already the 6th (or so, haven't seen the latest figures) rainiest year in DC. That means heaven for the "fungis".
Just between April and today (9/27/2018) there are 655 observations of mushrooms and 170 species identified!
I've been interested in learning more about mushrooms and iNaturalist has been an excellent resource to learn about the local species.
Keep the observations coming! October should be a great month...
