Taxonomic Swap 46375 (Guardado el 26/03/2020)

"The latest published phylogeographical study of lions shows that the traditional split between Asian and African Lions as distinct subspecies is untenable (Barnett et al. 2014). Based on Barnett et al. (2014) the Cat Classification Task Force of the IUCN SSC Cat Specialist Group has provisionally proposed a different split into two subspecies, P. l. leo of Asia and West, Central and North Africa, and P l. melanochaita from South and East Africa." - @maxallen

@jakob @jwidness @maxallen though we currently lack an authority that extends down to mammal subspecies, we have generally been following Kitchener et al. (2017) for cat subspecies and my preference would be to commit this swap (which are best explained in this flag I made a couple years ago https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/106386). Any reservations?

Fine with me. I would also like to see Ugandan lions not ID'd to subspecies, but I feel like that's a pipe dream...
