This small paper wasp is Ropalidia marginata. It is very common in the Mariana Islands, where it is locally referred to as one of two species of "boonie bees". This observation indicates a range extension into Mejit Island. Previously recorded in the Marshall Isands on Kwajalein Atoll (Sugarman 1972).

This is really Entoloma perzonatum and not E. translucidum. They are not synonyms according to sequence data.

E. perzonatum distinctly stripy and in turf and relatively small. E. translucidum less stripy, in forests and large.

Coloration. Carapace brown, with two dorsal bands of white hairs. Sides of carapace covered with black hairs. Eye field black, covered with orange-grey or grey-brown hairs. Clypeus brown, densely covered with white hairs. Sternum, maxillae and labium yellow-brown to brown. Chelicerae dark brown. Abdomen yellow-grey, with a pair of dorsal longitudinal dark brown stripes. Dorsum with small scutum. Spinnerets brown. All legs yellow-brown to dark brown; tibiae and patellae sometimes darker than other segments. Palp with dorsal bunch of white hairs on tibia and patella.
