I received my PhD in Ecology from the University of Wyoming. Currently an Assistant Professor of Wildlife Biology at Lees-McRae College where I teach Ecology, Ornithology, and Zoology. To date, my research has mostly focused on ecological and behavioral mechanisms of adaptation, adaptive radiation, and speciation, especially in the red crossbill complex. I also use literature reviews and meta-analyses to explore the generality of the evolutionary and ecological processes I study in the field. Looking forward to working on a variety of systems in the Appalachians, especially birds and insects.
