I understand that Australia is home to the most ancient of all known human civilizations and maintains the oldest ongoing unbroken culture in the world.

In the spirit of reconciliation I wish to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

I acknowledge that First Nations peoples sovereignty of this Country has never been ceded. Australia always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
