Seabird Biologist since 1982 (BSc Carleton, MSc University of Toronto, PhD Queen's University), currently professor of Biology at Memorial University in St. John's Newfoundland. In addition to avian ecology and natural history, interested in Arctic flora, marine mammals, marine and freshwater fish, reptiles and amphibians, northern butterflies, and all things Aleutian. Married to marine mammal biologist Jeannine Winkel.
